Almost there....

So here I am at 38 weeks yesterday:

When we went to my doc appointment I was still at a 1 and she's still estimating an on-time delivery and a good-sized baby. His head isn't completely lodging itself in my pelvic bone though, so there is a slight chance of having a c-section. It would be a first for my family, so we'll see. Right now I'm just trying to get things done. All our Christmas stuff is up, all presents bought and wrapped, food in the freezer; now all I need to do is clean!

On a sad note, we haven't seen the bunny in a couple of days. Maybe he didn't like the name Derek gave him? Actually, we think he might belong to our next door neighbors. In the corner of their front fence it looks like they've got something trying to cover up a hole, which may have been his escape route. And we have a small hole in our fence where our hose goes to the backyard, so that may have been where he came in. Derek is a little sad and kind of misses him, but at least we don't have to worry about him eating the landlord's plants anymore!

The Bunny's name shall be...

Zombie Bait.

A new pet

The other day I was sitting at the kitchen table and I just happened to look out the window and see this:

What the heck? How did a rabbit get in our backyard? We figure he's a wild one because he doesn't seem used to people and every time a car drives by he bolts for the bushes. We're still not sure how he got back there, but he has stayed (maybe partly because we leave baby carrots out for him?). So we have a new pet, I guess. He's been nibbling at the bushes back there though, so if he's still there by summer we might have to kick him out because I don't want the landlord's plants ruined. Derek loves to come home from work and look for him though, so if he becomes super attached, maybe we'll have to force it to live in a cage.

A star in the family

Yesterday here in Logan JJ Cole was having a warehouse sale (they sell baby stuff), so me and my sister Danika went. You had to get there before they opened because yes, there was a big line. When we got in there it was pretty much mad chaos and you had to kind of keep moving forward and grab anything that looked good as you were walking. I ended up with some good stuff for a good deal including this cute diaper caddy:

The baby on the picture is none other than this little guy:

My nephew Luke did some "modeling" for JJ Cole 2 years ago when he was a couple months old and they still have his picture on their products. Must be because he's so darn cute!

Mary Kay liquidation sale

I was a Mary Kay consultant a while ago and have since stopped doing it, but I still have some inventory that's just hanging around. I thought I'd try and sell it for a pretty good discount - $125 for everything you see in the picture above (worth about $800 retail), or 60% off for individual items (that's less than what consultants pay for the product!). If you buy $30 or more, I will give you an additional $5 off. These products make great Christmas gifts!

If you or anyone you know might be interested, leave a comment or shoot me an email at tjaco28@gmail.com. I'll be in Layton for Thanksgiving weekend, or I would be willing to make other arrangements if you live far away from me (which most of you do:).

More baby showers

On Saturday my mom and sister threw me another baby shower. The first part was with the fam, and then we had an open house for friends. Thanks everyone for coming! We got a lot of cool stuff. And thanks Mom and Danika for all the work you did!

Some of the guests:

36 weeks 2 days!

The latest stuff: A couple of weeks ago I felt the baby move down, and that same day I started having major back pain on the right side. Two days later it was still bad so we went into the doctor and she checked me and I wasn't dilated or anything (although she could feel his head right there) and I wasn't having contractions at all. So they did a urine test and I guess I had a borderline bladder infection. All that pain just for that? But ever since then it hasn't hurt at all so I guess that's good.

At our appointment last week I still wasn't dilated, but the cervix is softening! Doc says the baby is still a good size and she doesn't think I'll go late, so we'll see. I found out my friend that was due the day before me went into labor yesterday and had her baby. I admit, my first thought was, I'm jealous. But I really am happy for her.

Sleepless nights

It's almost 3 in the morning. I woke up almost 2 hours ago and I can't fall back asleep. Help!

Halloween

Our Halloween was pretty laid back this year. Derek ended up having to work until 3, so I went trick-or-treating on Main Street with some girls from my ward. I was the only one without a kid (outside the belly), but I still got 3 pieces of candy, and a piece of bread from Great Harvest. It was such a beautiful day. I can't remember the last time Halloween was actually warm.

For dinner we got a pizza from Pizza Hut and then changed into our costumes. We were both vampires again, like last year. I didn't put on my entire costume, but enough so you could tell what I was.

35 weeks 2 days!

Derek made some of the kids nervous. I guess he is kind of creepy looking.

We had about 8 trick-or-treaters, the first ones being our nephew and niece Luke and Layna. They were so darn cute! Luke was Lightning McQueen and Layna is a spider, although my sister said she looked kind of like a blob in the picture.

Baby shower

I had a baby shower on Saturday given by my mom-in-law with Derek's side of the family. It was lots of fun and we received some much-needed things.

Derek's grandma always makes a quilt for babies and weddings in the family. Here is our new quilt for baby Gage:

We also got a bathtub, bouncer seat, monitors and clothes galore. AND how could I forget all those who pitched in to buy our crib and mattress? Thanks so much everyone!

Sidenote: I have decided I don't like pictures of me when I'm pregnant, so this is the only one you're getting on this post. :)
